OSHO Meditative Therapies

OSHO Institute for Meditative Living

Nadeen was initiated by Osho in 1988 and since then he has dedicated his life to exploring how spiritual understanding can become a living truth, inspired by the vision of the master that integrates meditation into day-to-day life.

The Osho approach to therapy is that it can never be the ultimate solution to human problems, but it can be used as a tool to help prepare the ground for meditation. The revolutionary insight is that analysis and verbalization, the basis of traditional therapy, is not curative. The mind cannot solve the problems created by the mind.

Based on this understanding, Osho has created a series of "meditative therapies" that give participants the opportunity to release whatever is repressed that lies at the root of their inner conflicts. Once these tensions are dissolved, the participants are able to sit silently and discover the art of watching that same mind – that creates problems in the first place. In this way, they can now avoid adding new repressions in the future.

Uniquely simple and effective, these methods involve a minimum of interaction among the participants, but the energy of the group helps each individual go more deeply into his or her own process. No “language” is required, nor a "therapist." A trained facilitator is present to support the participants in their individual processes if needed.

“I am dealing with the contemporary man,
who is the most restless being
that has ever evolved on the earth. But people do become silent; you just have to allow them
to throw out their madness, insanity,
then they themselves become silent.”

OSHO Mystic Rose

Laughter, Tears, and Silence.

For 21 days:

  • Laugh for 3 hours a day for 7 days,

  • Cry for 3 hours a day for 7 days, and then

  • Sit Silently, for 3 hours a day for 7 days.

When we allow all our un-laughed laughter, our un-cried tears, and our un-lived silence to be experienced, we can allow whatever is in the unconscious to flow freely and be lived now – and be resolved forever.
